Problem: when entering 2 or more parts, notes are laying on top of each other masking note values and pitches
Hi all,
Example: part I half note G (beat 1) Part 2 quarter note F (beat 1) result is that the F is right under the G instead of to the side.)
Any ideas?

With part, do you mean voice?
You can nudge notes, after a double click on them move them asside with the arrow keys, see http://musescore.org/en/handbook/edit-mode

You can also move a note head to the other side of the stem, if necessary.
Select the note that you want to change, right click on it, then select Note Properties... In the popup, change the pulldown for Note head position from Auto to Left of stem or Right of stem.

That fixed it. I had to move the stem manually but it worked! Thanks.

This is a known bug - see #3325: Seconds between voices overlap
I usually use shift-X to flip a notehead to the opposite side of a stem.
