pdf to xml problem
Is there someone who would be willing to help me and take the time to either convert 5 PDF's to xml for me, or show me how? My email is roblo1@aol.com I have tried using audiveris but i am too technically stupid. What I am trying to do is take 5 lead sheets to songs that just have the melody line and chord symbols and I want to actually write out the notes for the chords as I dont do well with chord symbols. Can someone be generous with their time and help me?

You can download and run the demo of this program. The limitations are it will only playback the first page and will only let you convert 1 page at a time. So it you have mulitple pages you have to do page1 then page 2 then page 3 etc. It works quite well in most cases. You will end up with an individual XML file for each page and may have to do copy/paste to get multiple page documents into a single file. I have not used it with MuseScore.

PDF2Music only works if the PDF you have is from a music notation program like MuseScore. It will NOT work on a scan, or a PDF containing images etc...

But on those it works quite OK, I just tested on a PDF created by Finale.
Audiveris produced a pretty bad xml, PDF2Music's only required little modifications.

Unfortunately my PDF's were scanned...Is there anyone out there that wuld want to do this job for me????:)
You just have the melody line and the chord symbols? How does Audiveris (or any other readily-available OMR program) convert this to the notes of the chords? No short-cut as far as I can see.

No I didnt mean audveris would convert to the notes of the chord..That is my ultimate goal which would have to be done by hand.
