[BUG] MuseScore 2.1 crashes when changing JACK settings

• May 25, 2017 - 17:27

Here's my specs: 64 bit Windows 10, Musescore version 2.1 revision 871c8ce.

I have been fumbling around trying to get JACk to work, and I turned all the settings on (JACK MIDI, JACK audio, remember connections, JACK transport, timebase master). I didn't know what they were for anyways, and JACK still isn't working, so I went back to turn them off, setting only MIDI and Remeber connections (as this thread suggests: https://musescore.org/en/node/100826

When I try to CHANGE the JACK settings from all on to MIDI and remember, Musescore crashes. I've gotten it to repeat three times in a row, so I think it's a bug.

I'll give more information if you need it. It's easy to work around by setting it to Portaudio and then back to JACK, but still, a bug's a bug, and the least I can do in exchange for this great software is report a bug or two. Thanks.

It might be worth mentioning that I was running MuseScore as an administrator, thinking that the extra privileges would make JACK play nice or something. Turns out, Admin rights prevented JACK from connecting (cannot connect to client pipe.... err= 5 or something like that). After I stopped running as an admin, it all works normally.

The other reason I was running as an admin is because there are places Windows won't let me save to without it, such as Program Files. I've had problems saving configurations files in other programs and I think I just turned it on on Musescore to avoid those annoyances in advance.
