Copy and Paste

• Apr 12, 2013 - 21:18

I tried to copy a portion of some music and to paste it into a new file. However, it did not paste correctly. I set up the new file with the same instruments, time signature and key signature. The time signature was 5/4. Much of the top staff (flute) was rests. When there were notes, finally, they were some eighth note triplets and some quarters. What got pasted was a half note triplet spread over several measures followed by some breves and other nonsensical notes (completely different from the original) and one measure with an odd notehead with no stem. Also, various extraneous bar lines that could not be eliminated.

In the end, I saved the original file as something else, and deleted the 189 measures before the part I wanted to copy.

Surely, this is some sort of bug.

Which version of MuseScore, what OS? Can you attach the score?
It is known that copy and paste of triplets is may cause score corruption, esp. partial triplets.

If you can reproduce the problem with the latest nighly build, the exact steps to reproduce the problem woule be needed.
Part of that could be a sample score, possibly before and after.
If you can't reproduce it in the nighly builds, look forward to its official release ;-)

If you have a corrupted score you'd desparatly need fixed, attach it here, maybe someone from the community or even the developers can fix it. But as far as I understand you fixed it yourself maenwhile...
