Layout change without starting from scratch.
I have two piano clefs below a vocal treble clef with Lyrics between.
I would like to combine the two treble clefs and move the lyrics down
between the two piano clefs. I would manually fix resulting uglies.
What is the best approach to accomplish the result?
I can't figure out how to copy and paste.
I don't know how to combine notes of different kinds (like half and eighth)
(but I thought I saw it mentioned somewhere).

Copy a d paste is simple. Select a region, ctrl-C, click where you want it pasted, ctrl-V. If you don't know how to select, that's easy too. MuseScore uses standard OS shortcuts that work in all programs - click one measure, shift click anohter, it selects everything between.
Not sure what you mean about combining notes of different lengths, but I am guessing you are referring to music with multiple voices. So see Voices in the Handbook.

Enlarge the lyrics font size: right-click one - text properties, change to your likings- select 'apply to all simmilar',

I haven't tried combining staffs.
With one of the compositions I am making right now,
I don't know how to lessen the space under the bottom lyric line.
I have the lyrics between the two piano Staffs.
What's the name of that space?

Lyric lower margin, under style / general / page. Negative values are allowed.

I have added the notes from the voice clef into the treble piano clef.
So how can I now copy (deleting) the lyrics from below the
voice clef to the space between the two piano clefs?
Then also delete only the voice clef?

The lyrics should have come over automatically when you copied the notes. But if you re-entered the notes manually, you'll have to re-enter the lyrics manually too.
As for deleting a staff, do that the same place you add or re-arrange staves - Create / Instruments.

I tried the HowTo and it works.
I had previously just manually copied some.
The remaining problem is to copy some of the
notes from the now crowded Treble clef to the sparse Bass clef,
maybe start with the low ones if it's automatic.
Or maybe I should combine Bass and Treble clefs before I
combine Voice and Treble, and do deletes at appropriate times,
since deletes are easier than inserts.
Any suggestions or teaching me new techniques?

It's always easier to help if you post the score you are working with so we can load it for ourselves and see what it is you are working with and understand better what you might be trying to do.

Sorry, I can't tell what you mean. An example is worth 1000 words. If you are worried about somene "stealing" your work, you can safely put that aisde. I guarantee no one is sitting around combing forums for songs to steal. And in any event, your song is already fully protected by law in virtually every country in the world - the international standard laws protects songs the moment they are written. There is absolutley nothing else you would need to do - or even be able to - to prevent someone from "stealing" it even in the unlikely event they were to try.

Seems you're leaving to to broad to be understood by a at least 3 people, Marc, lasconic and me... none of use understood the question.
That's as good as I can do now.

It looks to me like there are two errors in the HowTo http://musescore.org/en/node/12345
clicking on the first note "or rest" and shift-click on the last note "or rest" . (need rest)
The other should be : Create > Instruments ( think it said edit Instruments or something)
One question already occurred to me.
Is there a way to select more than one note manually and then move them down one octave?

Standard OS multi-select methods work in MuseScore - eg, click first note, shift-click last, or ctrl-click notes one by pne, or click a note, shift-arrow to extend selection. Once selected, you can transpose by octave just as you can for single nites via ctrl-arrow.

BTW, what you are calling "clefs" are actually alled "staves" (plural of staff). So when you read the manual or watch the tutorials videos, when they talk about a staff or staves, they mean what you are calling clefs. A clef is actual just the symbol at the left hand edge of the staff, not the staff itself.

I have a voice stave above two standard-type piano staves on three pages.
There are two lines of lyrics between the voice stave and the piano staves.
First I want to just move the lyric lines to the space between the piano staves.
How do I do that?
I know how to make room.
You will probably say it's simple, but I really want to know, and I don't know.
I'm running out of questions, buy here is one more.
On the example that comes with MuseScore (called "Reunion"), on
the second, fourth, fifth and other measures, but on the same stave,
there are notes of different time duration beginning on the same beat.
When I try to enter such, the immediate environment gets messed up.
I want to know how to combine those notes of different duration like in Reunion..

Asl for movint the lyrice from belove the voice staff to between the paiano staves:
a) why would you want to?
b) I'm affraid you'd have to enter them again attached to the piano treble clef notes, then delete from the voice staff

Take http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e55-YnhSk-s, or the link from the main page or the online manual. When the PDF got created all URLs got converted into all lower case letters, which screwed up the links to YouTube, a know and not yet fixed problem.
That tutorial won't show you how to copy and paste just lyrics though.
