mysterious whole rest appears outside the stave, shows on print and cannot be deleted?
A mysterious whole rest (upside down hat) appears (on its own) in the score, outside the staves and it can be moved (dragged) around but won't disappear! Why is it there and how can I get rid of this whole rest? - I tried dragging to the side, I tried to delete - tried everything I could think of - but it won't go away! And it shows/appears in the print version.
Has anyone had this problem?

posting the score might help.
I guess you dragged that rest from somewhere in your score.
It may work to select it, click on the quarter note icon, then click on the whole note icon, that should send it back into the measure it belongs to.
Last resort: right click - make invisible, then it won't print anymore

To send anything back to where it belongs, select it and press Ctrl + R (Cmd + R on a Mac)
