AFAIK PortAudio may use the WASAPI audio API introduced by Microsoft with Windows 7. So I wonder why the API isn't listed in the API drop-down of PortuAdio (I/O preferences tab).
I don't have the tools to do so but if anyone wants to provide a portaudio.dll compiled with WASPI support I will be happy to integrate it. Even if I don't see the point, since we have sound via the other API.

Portaudio is distributed as a DLL with MuseScore. I believe this DLL has been compiled without WASAPI support.
Well, any chance the next versions of MuseScore are shipped with WASPI compiled in?
