2.0 - Missing some Text elements in Header /Footer
All new functions in general style templates for header, footer, numbers
work fine and are easy to handle ($p $n $$ $d $D $f $F).
But
Musescore 2.0 - nightly
I am missing a confortable way to show some more information in the
header area e.g.
- Title
- Subtitle
- Composer
- Instrument name (long)
This information is important for all separated parts (instruments) if
they have more then 1 page – just to identify them.
I propose an extended function to copy this text elements
as variable text elements e.g.
- $title
- $subtitle
- $composer
- $instrument
Otherwise I must write this information by hand in the header.
Please check out if it is possible to extend the above functions.

Or maybe:
$:title:
$:subtitle:
$:Composer:
$:Instrument:
This should work already, if not right out of the box, then after adding these as meta tags,
Menu->File->Info... and ...->New

Yes, Jojo's way is the way to go. They can be several Title, Subtitle etc... in the score if you add more than one frame. The metadata fields are unique.

Hi Jojo-Schmitz
Yes it works
but
all meta tags stay only in the main score -
I can find no transfer - into the separated parts.
And so I have no benefit - composer, titel . . . .
are still missing.on parts

Have you tried putting a metatag into the header string in the Edit style dialogue?
That works for the copyright string in footers - I have used it that way.

In fact that is the way to go.
Here is the screenshot which shows you how to do it:-
You can just see the actual header generated at the top of the title frame.
This is using a build of MuseScore 2 of course.

PS you can find a list of the meta tag names on the File Info dialogue

I changed the behaviour of meta tags. Only the main score has meta tags. Parts now read meta tags from the main score.

Shouldn't the parts have at least the partname as their own Meta tag?

What about a cascading scheme: first lookup in master score, then in the part. The part meta data overrides the master meta data.
In reply to What about a cascading by [DELETED] 3
even better

The most important thing is a
transfer of new defined meta tags
from main into parts.
Latest nightly shows transfered $meta tag in header of parts
but up to now - no text comes out in parts
because file-info has no textcopy made.
So the meta tag is empty.
No text content was copied into file-info of the parts.
So the header has in all parts only an empty meta tag
on screen.
Luxury option
Maybe an inter-active selection-box with
all available $-functions
make it more comfortable than the screen-info
and laborious lookup in the info file.
Thank you for paying so much attention
