How to create an irregular tuplet?

• Jul 25, 2013 - 13:03

I need to create a tuplet that has 10 notes in the space of 1.5 1/4 notes - these are notated as 10 32nd notes in the original score. So I guess make that 10 notes in the space of 6 1/16th notes. I've tried the notes->tuplets->other dialog but can't get it to do what I want. This is 6/8 time BTW. Any ideas? I can make the bar an irregular length but that messes with playback. I can also put 10 notes in a one and a half 1/4 note but the notation is wrong (each note in the tuple is a dotted 1/4 note).

Many thanks in advance.

Guess you want a relation 10/6 on a dotted quarter (there are 6 16th to a dotted quarter and you want 10 it them), which gives you 5 8th notes (for some stupid reason MuseScore shortens 10/6 to 5/3, which only mathmatical is correct, but keeps the 10 in the bracket for that tuplet, and that's the reason why you can't directly enter a 5/3 relation), which you then can split into 10 16th
