Faults with MuseScore

• Sep 9, 2013 - 15:16

Dear Sir/Madam,

My name's Dave, and I'm a self employed musician. I'm currently in the process of composing, but a fault has occurred with MuseScore. On a particular bar it's showing an incorrect rhythm (Bar 16 on the drums) and every time I try and delete it to correct it, the incorrect rhythm then shifts up to the corresponding bar vice versa, then it brings up a box saying the following: "This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more information.

Can you please help sort out the matter?

Kindest regards

Dave

bar 16 is empty in the drums part?

I see you use triples a lot, a well known method to corrupt a score is using copy and paste on (partial) triplets.

Which Version of MuseScore are you using and on what O/S?

If bar 16 is empty, then I must have saved it by mistake before sending you the score. I had no idea the copy and paste thing could corrupt scores. I'm not sure what version of musescore I'm using.

Is there any way of fixing the problem without me having to delete the whole score and starting from scratch completely?

Excuse the dumb question...

delete the corrupt measure and possible the one before and after. Delete completly using 'Ctrl-Del', not just empty it using 'Del', then insert new measure(s) using _Ins' and reinsert the notes you need.

If you're really still on MuseScore 1.1, please upgrade to 1.3 right away! Esp. some problems with triplets have been fixed there.
That is unless you are on an old Mac, where 1.1 is the last supported Version... check http://musescore.org/en/download for details
