No sfz soundfont loaded even though fluid.sfz is in the sound folder. trying to add soundfont through synthesizer opens up small window with blank list and to way to add soundfonts

Open MsS;
preferences;
SoundFonts Folders;
Browse to sound folder and select it:
Close preferences;
Open synthesizer;
Add (the proposed soudfont).
Does it work?

Hmm it sounds as though the default folder locations haven't been set up properly.
Have you tried deleting the profile folder as per the instructions on the Nightly page: http://prereleases.musescore.org/windows/nightly/
I haven't had this problem with any of my self builds the latest being based on the 6d72a89
release.
There is no profile folder, (I deleted it several weeks after 9/4/12), and so I don't think that could be the problem.
