Hooking up

Hi, I am thinking o f using musescore but have had problems getting another program to work. I have a Roland FP30 connected via usb cable to an audio box to my desktop using Windows 8.Is there a tutorial showing how to get set up or is there someone on the forum to explain this to m? Thanks
