How do you use Rest symbol on music sheet?

I have problem of using Rest symbole. I can't bring it on the score. Any help?

Basically (see in Handbook, "Note input") , you have to select a note duration (eg quarter note: so, type 5, or select the icon in toolbar), and use the shortcut "0" (zero) to receive the rest (quarter rest)

But I suspect there is something other?
There is a known issue in 2.1 for drums and by using mouse: #198831: Regression: Cannot enter rests via mouse on drum staves
The workaround (use the keyboard, not the mouse) is in comment #2

Or do you Need to know how to enter rest symbols in text (like lyrics)?
If so press F2 while in text edit mode, then diuble-click the symbols
