double stops not working

• Jul 18, 2017 - 03:36

whenever i try to add in a second note for a chord or a double stop it just replaces the previous note i had. this happens regardless of whether or not i'm holding down the shift key and clicking.

In order for us to understand what might be going on, it would be best if you attached the score you are having trouble with (see "File attachments" right below where you type your reply) and describe precisely step by step what you are doing and where things seem to be going differently than you expect. Also say what version of MuseScore. Assuming you are in note input mode and are using the current version (2.1), adding a second note to a chord should be as simple as pressing Shift while entering the second note, whether you are entering the notes by typing, or using the piano keyboard window. For MIDI, you should be able to just enter the chord directly. If you are using the mouse to enter the notes, no need for Shift, just click in the notes one at a time.

See the Handbook under "Note input" for more information.

Just worth checking - does your [Shift] key work for other applications when you notice the above behaviour? Mine occasionally goes on strike.
