I don't know how to connect my midi yourock guitar to Musescore

I keep looking on the net for hours to find it, but it keeps saying something to do with a former (i don't know what that is?). there was a forum saying something about connecting the device, but it's so overwhelming and difficult to understand. I am new to the program. thanks, I really appreciate your help and the program. no rush.
