One Measure Per Line
How can I eliminate the the first bit of measure #2 that is appearing at the end of the first line? The same thing happens at the end of the second line. Hopefully it'll upload. http://mus.cr/1a4ibwN

You mean the courtesy key signature?
Style/Edit General Style>Page>uncheck the box "Create courtesy key signature"
As mentioned, these are called "courtesy key signature" and they are essential in "real" music, or else people would be unlikely to otice the key change. But indeed, not very appropriate for exercise sheets. So disabling them globally using the style option listed above is the way to go. Know also that you can disable them individually by right clicking the key signature and selecting "hide courtesy", but you'll want to do this globally when developing exercise sheets.
Similar story for time signatures and clefs, btw.
