Improvements for fluid.sf3

• Jan 15, 2014 - 16:21

2.0 will use a new soundfont format: SF3.

I think the default soundfont will be fluid.sf3, but I would like to propose a few improvements, if possible.

One that comes to mind is changing the names of entries.

This would include:

Bright Yamaha Grand > Bright Yamaha Grand Piano
Electric Piano > Electric Grand Piano
Honky Tonk > Honky Tonk Piano
Accordian > Accordion

Any other things?

Comments

I'm not sure it matter - apart from the mis-spelling of Accordion.

Normal users probably won't get as far as the mixer, and those who do will know that a Bright Yamaha Grand is a piano.

And as Electric piano covers a multitude of sins ranging from a Rhodes through Wurlitzer to a Yamaha CP80, I think we can safely leave this.

I would be more concerned to add Rhodes and Wurlitzer sounds eventually assuming we can find sample sets.
