Compatibility of 0.9.5 with score done on 0.9.4
I have some recent work in process using 0.9.4 that I opened with 0.9.5. I was interested in completing the staff lines that were not filled in between treble and bass staves and I clicked and dragged a single staff line to the bar end of a line without reading how it should be done. It did not produce the desired change, but then I noticed a sequence of many staff lines (about 10 of them) in a measure at another part of the score that 0.9.5 had inexplicably inserted, but that could not be removed. Clicking on them and pressing Del only wrote another staff line and Edit Undo only wrote more. Of course I didn't save the modification of the previously written score.
I apologize for complaining about something I did before reading the handbook, but could you mention something about compatibility with old work in your presentation of features on 0.9.5? I would like to copy my old work into a score written with 0.9.5, if that is necessary to continue its development.. Either that, or make MuseScore 0.9.4 download available again until compatibility issues are settled since I uninstalled my 0.9.4 and may need to re-install it.
I'm using Windows XP.
Thanks for all your hard work getting the new revision completed.

Compatibility issues have not been reported before. It would be helpful to attach the score that you are having problems with and include step-by-step instructions for reproducing the problem.
When you talk about staff lines are you referring to the vertical bar lines at the end of each measure or the five vertical lines that make up the staff?

Yes, I was referring to the vertical bar at the end of each measure. I see now they are called bar lines - - sorry.
Looking at the score I'm attaching, I see extraneous bar lines in measures 13 and 14 that were not there before I tried to use 0.9.5 on this score. I'm surprised to see this marking since I was careful not to save the modified file after I noticed the defects (which were much more numerous) when I was viewing the file with 0.9.5.
As a test, I took another score that I had been working on in 0.9.4 and followed the 0.9.5 handbook to edit bar lines, and after extending one bar line to the bass cleff, I hit Esc and all bar lines extended perfectly. So I don't seem to be able to reproduce my own problem (except to note the mysterious marking described above in the attached file).

I was able to fix the score by copying and pasting the notes into a new score. It is difficult to tell what caused the problem in the first place without watching what happened each step of the way. If you encounter the problem again or are able to reproduce the problem please let us know.

Excellent - - yes, it looked to me like the markings might be left over from automatic measure length adjustment, but the appearance of a whole bunch of bar lines in a row prompted my initial concern, and if it happens again, I'll "save as" and shoot it to you with a description of how it happened. Sorry I didn't have the presence of mind to do that in the first instance.
Hi Chuck,
You can download 0.9.4 via this link https://sourceforge.net/projects/mscore/files/mscore/mscore-0.9.4/
Regarding your compactibility issue: could you attach the source file (mscz) + the pdf of the preferred output to a comment?

Thanks for the link to 0.9.4. I attached the score file to my reply to David Bolton's request. I don't seem to have a PDF of the score without the extraneous markings, but you have the source file now.
