Slash notation

It's not really huge isssue, but is there a way to remove the note stems when using slash notation? I.e. wantingto have 4 slashes in the staff, but no stems. I've done it with regular elliptical noteheads, but when I use the slash ones, it seems that I can no longer do this. How should I go about doing that?
