Mac OS High Sierra: "File corrupted" error when trying to launch a nightly build

• Sep 7, 2017 - 22:13

Hello!

I just downloaded the latest 2.2 nightly for Mac OS. When trying to launch an app I'm receiving the "File corrupted" error. I'm using High Sierra Dev Preview 9. Is this a known issue?

I don't see any message about a corrupted score, but that might be my lack of understanding Russian (?).

Try revert to factory settings by appending a -F to the command that starts MuseScore
Or is that corrupted message about MuseScore itself. If so, download it afreash or try a different version of it

I marked this message with double-arrows on a screenshot: http://take.ms/VNpGy
I investigated this issue a little bit, the message sounds in English like this: "xxx.app" is damaged and cant't be opened. You should move it to thrash". Looks like this happens when app is not sighed properly: http://www.tech-recipes.com/rx/45404/mac-downloaded-app-is-damaged-and-…
The general recommendations are to change the "Allow apps downloaded from:" option in "System preferences -> Security & Privacy" to "Anywhere". But this option is not available in High Sierra (and Sierra if I remember correctly): http://take.ms/O9Pg6

This error never happens on a release builds of Musescore, so it is signed properly.

Hi Valery,

How is your experience this far with MuseScore 2.1 on High Sierra? We are trying to find out if 2.1 is ready for 10.12. Thanks for your answer.

Right now I'm using 871c8ce (2.1) installed on High Sierra GM Release Candidate. Everything is working well as far as I can see (except for nightly builds, that are not signed properly). Note, please, that I'm not a MuseScore expert: I just started to use it around a month ago, so I might overlook something.
