Grace Notes Counting Incorrectly
I'm trying to recreate a piece I know, but when I played it back, the grace notes seem to play as if they were eighth notes instead. I'm no professional, so I don't know if I'm doing something wrong, but I've tried to fix it and nothing works. I'm using Muse Score 1.3 for Mac. There are two kinds of "grace notes" - appoggiatura and acciaccatura. The former - the ones with not slash through the stem - are *supposed* to play long. half the value of the note to which they are attached is the traditional interpretation (two third for a dotted note). So be sure to use the correct type of grace note for the situation.
That said, there are definitely cases where you want the behavior of one but the look of the other and you have to choose.
