command to place an element on a certain layer
Great software musescore!
I love the command line parameter -e to get the layer function. Here I can show and hide the fingerings: -)
Unfortunately, you have to set the property of which layer for each element individually. With multiple selections, only the first element is set to the newly assigned layer.
Is there a way in the plugin editor to set the property layer with a command in the script?

Hmm, -e stands for 'experimental' and the layer functions have been hidden behind this for good reason ;-)

Yes, I know that -e stands for experimental and you didn't answer my question. I would like to know if there is a command or function to assign an element to a layer via scripting language. In the built-in help I find nothing and unfortunately also not here on the website.
I love version 3! I downloaded a Nightlybuild out of interest. I'm looking forward to the MIDI playback. Unfortunately, the layers are still hidden behind the -e. I was hoping to find a hint here maybe.

I don't think anything of the layer feature is exposed to plugins

Thank you for your feedback.
Are there any plans for the future or even a timeline? Can I have any hope here?

Timeline was a GSoC project this year, Annotations was one last year, I'm not sure though about the status of either.

I think "timeline" as in "when will certain features apear in MuseScore", not the new timeline feature.

Oops.
There is no such thing.

rmattes you are right. Too bad there is no such a "timeline". How to vote for the layer function and its development?
