Time Signature Change

• Sep 17, 2017 - 15:21

I am trying to do a two measure time signature change but for some reason, the program keeps shutting down every time I try but only with the one piece. Has anyone else had this problem? It's really frustrating. How do I fix this?!

I haven't heard of that. Can you attach your score and tell us what you are doing? For example, using the 4/4 time signature from basic palette or using custom time signature of 5/8 and which measure.

Indeed, we'd need to see the score in order to do more than guess. But fwiw, my guess is your score is corrupt, and if so you should be receiving a message about this when you load it. if you click the "Details" button in the warning dialog, MuseScore will tell you where the corruption is so you can try to fix it. Corruptions should always be fixed immediately as crashes and other bad things can happen otherwise.

Also, be sure you have the latest version of MuseScore (2.1). Some older ones had a bug where under certian conditions, trying to add a time signature in certain places in certain ways could cause a crash even in an uncorrupted score. That bug was fixed quite some time ago though.
