Piano Ed doesn't crash on Mac when editing score produced elsewhere

• Oct 14, 2017 - 23:24

For the second time in a couple of months, I have used the piano roll editor on my Mac without it crashing. In both cases, the new factor was that I was editing someone else's score, i.e., one not created on the Macintosh. I realize that this hardly gives a path to how to debug this, but the inability to use the piano editor to articulate my scores is one of the most annoying and persistent (and non-getaround-able) bugs in this product, and I hope that this gives some insight. You might try comparing two wholly new identical scores created on Windows and OS X byte-for-byte.

This might be the funniest bug report I've ever seen. Basically, "My score doesn't crash!"

I do understand what you are saying and I'm not the one to do anything about it. The title made me laugh.

I'm not finding it in the issue tracker, but I've seen discussions about piano roll editor crashing. I also don't remember it being a Mac specific issue, but if a score crashes one Operating System and not another that might be an avenue of investigation worth travelling.
