Measures Overlapping

• Jun 19, 2014 - 19:25

Hey, I'm new to MuseScore and I have been enjoying it so far. However, something weird has happened, my measures seem to overlap in some way, I can't move the measures under my real staffs. I have tried stretching on both the staffs (front and back) but nothing is working. How do I get rid of this?

It would be preferable attach the score (if you want).
Try to increase the space: Layout / Add More Stretch.
Meanwhile, welcome aboard.

As mentioned, attaching the score itself (not just a picture of it) is usually more helpful.

When this happens, it is usually because the score has become corrupted somehow - the result of some previous edit operation that went worng (there are bugs that can cause this in particular corner cases involving copying of partial triplets and certain pastes between voices, for example).

Only solution usually is to completely delete the affected measures - not just the contents, but the measures themselves (Ctrl+Delete, or with Fn on Macs without a true Delete key).

Looking at the image file, the accolade brackets appear problematic. For instance, why do you show the top 2 marimbas bracketed together and also the 2nd marimba with the 1st vibraphone?

Still, it's best to post the score. (Plus, it looks like you're only at 10 measures - not a 'giant' score.)
Regards.
