sound glitch thing (idk)

• Dec 1, 2017 - 02:21

So whenever the program plays a sound, it sounds like earrape basically... I don't know any other way to really explain this problem. Whenever it plays a piece of music, the notes are louder, longer, and as the music proceeds the sounds get jumbled up together and it sounds horrible. I've tried reinstalling the program and it still hasn't resolved the problem. Honestly, I don't know what to do.

Can anybody possibly help with this?

You are correct about playback.

Is this a sudden problem? I mean did it ever work correctly? (from looking at your online scores I guess it used to work).

Did you update your operating system or any other hardware/software shortly before this started?

What is your MuseScore version, operating system and anything you have added to your computer for sound entry or playback (besides external speakers).

Is MuseScore the only application your are running when you have the problem? Does it do this when no other apps are open?

I guess the sound you describe happens when you enter a note, at least that's what it sounds like you mean.

Have a look at the volume slider in the Synthesizer dialog window. If during playback you see it go maxed out nearly continuously, lower the volume there.
