Indeterminate pitch

• Jan 1, 2018 - 17:37

Hi!
I am writing a score. There are some sections in which I need to write a specific rhythm but I want the pitch to be indeterminate. There's already a way to write it, which is by erasing the notehead, thus just leaving the stem and showing what the rhythm should be.
I was wondering how one can do this in MuseScore

Thanks very much!!!

This is normally done by using an X note head. You can find note heads in the advanced palettes or use the inspector and change the Head group.

Since most pitched instruments don't use X note heads, I would suggest you insert a note explaining the X note head since it can mean many things (snaps, claps, undertemined sounds).
