no audio with mac
The audio with MuseScore 2.0.3 was working with my mac air then just stopped. I'm running sierra. This happened before on my imac with Mavericks and then came good so long ago I don't remember how. It's a great program but if it doesn't work.......I get audio with MuseScore-1.3 but that's not so easy to use as the latest versions. Just to be clear none of the following work:
MuseScore 2.1.0
MuseScore 2.0.3
MuseScore 2.0.3.1
From what I have read it is a common problem with macs and a fair number of people would appreciate if someone got to the root of it.

Actually for most people 2.0.3 works, so your problem may be unique. Did you try Help / Revert to Factory Settings? What do you see in View / Synthesizer, and Edit / Preferences / I/O?

In synthesizer is FluidR3Mono_GM.sf3 but I don't know what it means. I don't know what you mean by Edit/Preferences/ I/O but Preferences/ I/O is the attachment below.

As above
Try to quit Musescore, then start it back up again. Maybe reboot your computer.

I've done both the first many times with all the versions of Musescore I can find.
And now I have MuseScore 3 which I didn't know existed (and it said I was downloading Musescore 2) which also doesn't work. Now I have loads of musescores but none of them work except 1.3.

MuseScore 3 doesn't exist :-). It is currently under development, still quite a long ways off, but perhaps you found an experimental nightly build of what might eventually become MuseScore 3. They are made available for testing purposes only.
