MuseScore AppImage with Devuan GNU/Linux and Trinity (TDE) desktop environment.
As the title states, I am trying to get the latest MuseScore AppImage to work with Devuan GNU/Linux and the Trinity (TDE) desktop environment. Out of the box, Trinity uses aRts as the sound system and MuseScore complains that it is looking for PulseAudio. I have been advised that I could install apulse as an alternative to PulseAudio that allows the user to continue using ALSA. MuseScore now starts without complaining, but there is no score playback as the play button is grayed out. I am not sure why I have no playback. Is it possible to use MuseScore with only aRts? If not, how do I get Trinity to use apulse as default without compiling from source? What is MuseScore lacking on my system?

Can you install Pulseaudio on your version of Devuan?

It is possible, but it is a beast on resources, as far as I understand.
It's a long time ago I've used Alsa as sound engine. But it should be possible to use MuseScore with Alsa and without Pulseaudio. So I think, it's more a configuration problem than a issue of MuseScore
