Metronome

• Feb 13, 2018 - 17:29

The tempo of the song I am transcribing is 60 BPM. I would like to add a metronome from the beginning of the score to the end at 240 BPM without changing the 60 BPM of the song. I have researched and researched, but with no luck of finding what I am looking for. Information regarding the solution to this question would be highly valued because the metronome is (if I remember correctly) part of the original score.

What you want is not possible and makes no sense from a strictly musical point of view. I do understand that setting your example 60bpm score to 240 would click each 16th note without the need to rewrite the score, which is obviously your goal. It is also possible to do with a real metronome.

There is a workaround for this limitation. Add a woodblock to your instruments and mark it as invisible after you fill it with 16th notes. You will be able to mute it in the mixer when you do not what to hear it. I would suggest making this the second instrument in the score since an invisible first instrument occasionally leads to display problems.
