How can I create a gap between two measures e.g if I have 4 measures I would like to have a gap between the first two measures and the last two. please help

Assuming they are on the same line/system, which I'm guessing they are. But for the sake of completeness, I'd add that if you really mean you have two measures on one line and two measures on another, the settings for default spacing are in Style / General / Page, or you can the Breaks & Spacers palette to add space for those line only.
