Ok now I've got another problem... the lines for dynamics only change after each measure

I'm guessing the point is, crescendos don't work on single notes, only from note to note. Someday perhaps the implementation will be revamped in a way that supports this, but right now we use a simple MIDI model that only allows a note's volume to be specified when it is first played.
