Cannot compile on Ubuntu 16.04 LTS and Debian 9.4

Hello there,
I've tried posting a better explained post earlier but it "disappeared" on the forum (and yes, I didn't copy the whole text before hitting "save"). I'll try again with a shorter version: I've tried compiling MuseScore after cloning the github repo, followed the ubuntu/debian guide and then the general unix guide as written in the instructions, but got stuck at 30%. I've attached a screenshot. I've tried to build in Ubuntu 16.04 LTS and Debian 9.4 and they both hang at that point.

Can someone please try downloading the source code and compile it inside Ubuntu or Debian? I've tried with Windows and there it works, but I need it to run on Linux.
To be sure I've done everything inside a freshly installed VM with no other things than what was needed to compile MuseScore and the source code itself.
