Hairpin effect (cresc. and dim.)

Intensity (volume) control: I can't seem to make the hairpin produce any effect on the output volume when reproducing a score. Is the hair pin interpretation and execution not implemented in MuseScore reproduction?

Comments

Hairpins have no affect on individual notes. Tied notes are considered individual notes for this rule. For a hairpin otherwise to cause the volume to change it has to have some point of reference for the volume. The default volume is mf. If there no other dynamic, the volume will remain at mf. If you want to start anywhere but mf, you must enter the dynamic to start. After that you have two choices, you can enter a dynamic after a hairpin to tell it how loud or soft to get or you can click the hairpin and enter a value in the Velocity change box, a value from 0 (default no change) to 127, max volume change.
