Fretboards

I'm not familiar with guitar terminology so I may be the only one who is confused. In the Edit section of Freboard diagrams it says

  1. Click above the lowest fret to toggle a string between:
    • Open string (o),
    • mute/unplayed string (x)
    • Off.

To me, the lowest fret is the one at the bottom of the diagram. Once I started testing fretboard diagram I realized it is the one displayed on the top of the diagram. As I think about it, I realize the top fret will produce the lowest note, but the words are ambiguous and confusing. What do others think? Should there be some clarification? Perhaps

To view a fretboard diagram with basic understanding is one thing - a person may need to 'figure it out'.

The next step...
...for a person wishing to create (or edit) a fretboard diagram I would assume this basic understanding.
So use of 'lowest fret' is fine, IMHO.
