Eighth note bared together HELP!
For some reason the new update to Musescore has decided to take my dotted quarter notes followed by and eighth note and combine it (bar it) to the following two eighth notes. I find this to look more like a triplet than three eighth notes to the avg performer. How can I change this to a dotted quarter with a single eighth note followed by two eighth notes bared together? Thanks for your help. This is driving me crazy!

See https://musescore.org/en/handbook/beams for few occurrences and https://musescore.org/en/handbook/time-signatures#change-default-beaming for more of the score than not. I suggest you read all of the time signature page for multiple options.
For the record, nothing changed recently in this regard, but beaming rules are indeed time signature-specific, and it's possible you just started using a time signature whose default beaming rules happen to work that way. As mentioned, posting the score would allow to assist better.
