Auto Formatter

Is it possible to add an auto-formatter in MuseScore, so that a score is re-layouted like Lilypond it does. I have often the case that the slurs crosses the bar numbers or a crescendo sign crosses a note. Either the live formatter should be more intelligent or there should be a formatter, that can be executed explicitly and re-layout the score, so that such crossings does not occur. I think this extra formatter can do more computations, because it is executed only by the user and does not need to do the calculation in real-time like in live-edit mode.

I have also the problem that I re-layout may score manually, which is very time-consuming, but when I then make an extraction with one voice all my formatting are gone in this extraction. The bar numbers are printed at default positions again, the slurs and crescendos also. This is very bad.

An auto formatter would be very helpful here.

MuseScore 3.0 is going to have a smart layout so items avoid one another. There will still be options to override the layout, but this should be far less common than is currently necessary.

For the parts, some of the layout from the main score, but more often the changes do not make sense. Page breaks occur at different places, staves are different distances and so forth. MuseScore sets up a common layout, but without regard for avoiding collisions between elements. Items may need to be adjusted in the main score and vice versa.

Also, bar numbers that appear in the score very likely won't even appear in the parts, assuming you use the standard of showing bar numbers at the beginning of each system. The bar numbers that appear will likely be totally different. Now, if you mean you want to change all bar numbers, if you do this using the appropriate style setting instead of moving them individually, then this will apply to score & parts equally.

In my early tests with MuseScore I have often changed single items. But now I try to avoid that because I need to much reformatting in single parts. Now I go to style settings and change it for all items of same type. I do that for bar numbers and crescendos to decrease the distance from staff. But of course there are some single items that crosses others, e.g. when you have a very low note and a crescendo. These would cross also with default style settings, my distance decrease does not matter in this case.

But I am enjoyed if there is a smart layout in future versions of MuseScore. When this one relayout the score/part by a single click and solves all collisions that would be fine :-)

Thanks to both for your fast answers.
