Can't change profile picture.

When I click on "update image" on my profile, a pop up comes up, "Drop files here, paste or browse". I click on browse and choose my file. It uploads my file allowing me to crop and I click "save changes". Then, nothing happens and goes back to "Drop files here, paste or browse" with my picture unchanged. I'm using google chrome on windows 7. Sometimes google chrome becomes unresponsive when I try several times. Does anyone experience this as well?
