Incompatibility with Sound BlasterX AE-5?
Hi everyone,
i have have been using Musescore 32bit on my laptop without issues,
but both the 32bit version and the 64bit version will crash during launch unless i set the -s flag.
i have tried replacing the portaudio.dll and portaudio_x64.dll as suggested in this thread
(https://musescore.org/en/node/93481),
but to no avail. In all four cases it will crash without and run fine with the synthesizer disabled.
I have tried running ABL's debugger, the logfiles for the the new and old portaudio.dll are attached.
They do differ slightly, but i dont see anything helpful.
If i unplug the Soundcard and reboot only with onboard sound, musescore and the synthesizer work fine.
I am using the most up-to-date drivers, and uninstalling them and rebooting didnt help either.
Have i overlooked anything, or could this be a general issue with the AE-5 card?

I forgot to mention that i am using Win10 x64 on both, my laptop and my Tower PC
Interesting. A couple reboots later the issue seems to have resolved itself without any further changes on my part. I have no idea what it was in the first place though...
