Multi-measure repeats?

• Jul 12, 2014 - 21:50

I create chord charts (and some lead sheets) for blues & soul bands I play in. It would be very helpful if Musescore supported mult-measure (2, 4, 8-bar) repeats. It would shorten some of my charts considerably!

I know you guys are working on v2.0. Any ETA? Like just about everyone else, I can't wait to see it.

Not at home for a few days for a few days, so I'm limited in what I have access to. But I'm talking things like this:

Is it not completely clear what is being referred to by the "vamp sim."?

In this case, it happened to be a lead sheet with no slash notation needed because it was only an accompaniment part being repeated. Replace the melody at "A" with slashes and it's the same thing as I described.

I would interpret it a little differently.

It's obviously a lead sheet trying to provide as much information to as many sections of the band as possible. So, it means, "Here is the melody. Meanwhile, rhythm section, continue to vamp behind melody".

That's not what I am referring to - I would like to notate the repeat of, shall we say, the last 4 bars which contain a riff. A double slash, with dots on either side and a 4 above it, centered in a single bar, or on the barline of the next two bars meets my needs very simply.
