Crash navigating parts 2.3.2

• Aug 29, 2018 - 13:04

I have had a number of crashes while comparing parts from scores. Everything seems to be working properly, but at apparently random intervals, when I click on the part navigation tab, the system freezes for about five seconds and crashes. (I know it's not random - something specific causes the crash.) I then re-boot MuseScore and continue editing.

I am unable to re-create the conditions to produce the crash. As close as I can tell, the trigger for the crash is navigating the tabs, and I believe it may be when I am returning to the full-score tab.

I normally have two or more scores open at once, as I am comparing orchestrations. I run MuseScore on dual displays, with the main screen for score editing, and with the inspector, mixer and play panel on the second display. I also have a text document and browser open on the second display during editing. (both necessary for the work)

Windows 10 Home 1803 64 Bit
AMD A9-9420
8 GB
MuseScore 2.3.2

Thanks,
Tom

Once every few days. Not often enough that I am prepared for it, but enough that I recognize when it's happening. (as in, when the blue circle starts spinning, I don't touch the mouse or keyboard - I just wait for the program to close so I can re-start.) I have the feeling that I am hitting the part selection tab while MuseScore is in the middle of some other process, thereby triggering the crash.

This was the score I was working on for the most recent crash, but it has happened with other scores as well. As I mentioned, I often have two or three scores open at once, as I am comparing orchestrations.
It might be of note that I generally have MuseScore open for days at a time. I edit for an hour or two in the morning, and return to my work when I can throughout the day.

I cannot reproduce the steps that lead to the crash, but I know that the last step is clicking on a part selection tab. I was hoping that others who may have experienced this could point to a cause or solution.
