Layout stretch problem
Having trouble stretching and compressing measure layout in the first bar. Tried every which way to shorten the layout on bar 1 after stretching it too far. Followed instructions in online help manual. Nothing happens when I highlight the measure and use the keyboard shortcuts or menu commands. Had some general trouble with same in other measures but usually works by decreasing/increasing layout numerous times, sometimes 5-6 before the score changes.

If you attach your score we can understand what is going on and assist better. As it is, we can only guess, but mine is that you have layout breaks that are preventing you from seeing the effects of your stretch changes. For example, if breaks are forcing only one measure on a system, no amount of increasing or decreasing stretch will prevent it from filling the full width of the page.
