You probably also want to put a section break (Breaks & Spacers palette) at the end of the first piece, so MuseScore treats the next section as starting a new piece (measure numbers start over, D.C. works as expected, no courtesy symbols added at end of first piece, etc).

... and a section break also adds a helpful pause before the following section (default 3 seconds), which you can adjust if you want.
