Scanning plug-in or feature
Hi, I'm new to the community. I'm impressed at how advanced things are already. Is there any talk about having a feature that could scan and interpret printed sheet music? For example, SmartScore comes to mind. However, that is quite price prohibitive.

Under File->Import PDF it takes you to MuseScore.com and allows you to upload a score to be converted to a MuseScore file. It's very primitive in capability and doesn't handle multiple instruments or complicated piano scores well. The ideal score will be a picture that's been scanned at 300 DPI and I give no guarantee of success. Expect in the best case to need to do some editing once the score is scanned.
You are also welcome to use SmartScore or any other commercial scanning software that you think will do a better job - I think they pretty much all can generate MusicXML, which MuseScore can then import.
