Italian tablature: 7th and 8th strings as digits
Hello to the community.
In a piece for theorbo in italian tablature I would like to mark the 7th string with a '7' and the 8th string with a '8' and not with a '0' on the first or second auxiliary line.
Is it possible to write the diaparsons of a theorbo in italian tablature like '7 - 8 - 9 - X - II - I2 - I3 - I4'?
Thank you very much.

It's currently not possible.
This has implemented like this there is a while. Then, it has been discussed, but it remained in the current state.

An idea: result not completely as desired, but if you prefer (?), why not.
So, in Staff Properties -> String data -> Untick "Open" for 7th and 8th strings (image below)
And so, you can type now numbers 7 and 8.
Unfortunately, ledger lines can't be hide. For the 7, it remains rather good, for the 8, less. Your choice.
And you get:

i did it like this:
i made the digits on String 7 + 8 invisible and inserted th3e digits from the big pallette: symbols: italian tab
this works in musescore 3. so in in the music+ the playback you still have the right notes

Indeed, with the first workaround, the display is correct, but not if we add a standard staff (as you did), and the reading does not either.
With this second workaround, by adding the frets symbols (and using invisibility), you have the reading again. So, great.
And good theorbo (amazing instrument) :)
