Beam properties
I had created a file with beams over 2 notes (=one beat=1 quarter note) but when I re-opened the file, 2 beats=2 quarter notes were beamed together. When I tried to correct it using the palette, I'm unable to changed it. The choices seem to be separate or 4 together.
Ex: the first full measure has a dotted eighth - sixteenth pattern 4 times. I want each of the two notes to beam together but not 4 notes. Any suggestions? (attached) Thanks. spojaw

You've deleted the time signature in the first staff (any reason?). If you add it again, it will work.

You're right. Thanks. Fixed.
For some reason your have deleted the time signature from the first staff. I inserted the 4/4 time signature again pressed ctrl+a to select the entire piece then double clicked auto in the beams palette and got these results.

Fixed. I had originally added a pickup measure and didn't realize that changed things.
