media event 10?
Doug Cox, developer of PianoRollComposer, is trying to input a midi file generated by MuseScore. His program stops when it encounters a "media event 10." Can one of the developers shed any light on this?

According to Doug Cox, that Meta Event is supposed to identify the composer.
Meta Event 10, not media event 10.
The MIDI file, RialtoRipples.mid, contains a Meta Event 10 with "George Gershwin" in it. The XML file for RialtoRipples shows George Gershwin as Composer. I could not find Meta Event 10 anywhere in the MIDI Manufacturers Association webpage or in Google.

The file has been generated by which version of MuseScore and which platform?

It looks like a MuseScore extension.

Sorry about that. And I attach the mid file Cox is talking about
MuseScore 0.9.5 R2012
WinXP Media Center V5.1 SP3
I'll change PianoRollComposer to ignore unknown Meta Events.
PianoRollComposer now plays RialtoRipples.mid
