Separating first page from the rest of the pages

• Nov 28, 2018 - 02:39

my first page of the conductor's score is linked to the rest of the pages, which is a problem for me because I have a lot of instruments, and the title gets in the way in the first page.

When i move one instrument stave down to make more space, everything will be moved to the 2nd page because there's no space, due to the title taking a lot of space.

If i then squeeze all the staves into to fit it onto the first page, there won't be enough space for my notations, the subsequent pages will also have wasted space that I can't adjust because the staves are linked from the first to second page.

Anyone know a workaround?

I feel your pain. I wish there were a way to do this. I've asked for independent first page settings, but those requests have not been filled.

In your image of the single page (title + instruments) what does the title get in the way of?
I see unused white space at the bottom of the page.

What instrument are you trying to move down to make more space?
Have you tried increasing the 'Staff distance' in Style -> General... -> Page?

Where's the intended location of your notations?

Please attach a MuseScore file showing the first two pages for more customized help.

Regards.

Normally it's best in these cases to simply let the title be a separate page. If you're determined to combine them, best I can suggest is temporarily reduce the staff size (not the distance between staves), print the first page, then reset it, print the reset, and swap pages. Same story with PDF, although swapping the pages requires a utility like pdfSAM
