Don't hide empty staves in first system question
Hello, I am aware of the feature in the title, however my issue is that since I have multiple parts split up by breaks, not all instruments play in every part, so the "Don't hide empty staves in first system" option shows instruments that are completely irrelevant to the certain movement/part because they play in a different one. Is there a way around this that does not involve splitting the parts into different files?

You could not check that option, and add an instrumentation page instead. I did that here - https://musescore.com/user/194052/scores/5297182
That's usually the solution for large orchestra scores, anyway. I don't know if MS 3 has something better.

So that's the workaround for showing all instruments at once, rather than having all relevant instruments showing in the first system for each system break? I'll try that, thank you. I haven't found a solution in Musescore 3.

Any workaround that worked in MuseScore 2 should continue to work in MuseScore as far as I know.
If I'm understanding correctly, I'd probably unchecl the option "Don't hide in first system" but then decide for myself which staves I wanted to show at the start of a given movement, by adding an invisible / silent note to the first measure. Works for both 2 & 3.

Tried and works great! Now it shows the full name of every instrument in the movement in its first page.Thank you.
And yes this works on both Musescore 2 and 3.
