"Load Error" can't open score, how to recover file
I have a similar problem, a "Load Error" message occurs when I try to load the file. Although, the file itself still seems to have the content, hence the "size: 32.8 kb". Please help!

My preferences are set to autosave every 2 minutes but it never gave me a recovery option. Shouldn't there be a mscz. somewhere I can use?

The auto save version will be called sc*.mscz where * is a seemingly random group of numbers and letters. It is automatically deleted if you restart MuseScore after a crash and you say "No" when it asks if you want to resume your previous session (or words to that effect). It will be in the same folder as the broken file if it still exists.
The link I previously provided has instructions for each operating system explaining how to find the invisible ".idea - Dirge.mscz," file (that's what it will be called for the file you attached) that is created only when you open an existing score and then save it. If you never reopened the score and then saved it, this score will not exist. If it does exist, it will be the same as the last time you successfully saved the file then closed MuseScore normally.
